The Pharmacy Residency Programs at The Brooklyn Hospital Center have grown, both

in size and in quality since their inception in 2004.

Our Alumni by the numbers...
  • 145 pharmacist alumni
  • 181 certificates awarded
    • 104 PGY1 graduates
    • 74 PGY2 graduates
      • Academia (1)
      • Ambulatory Care (40)
      • Emergency Medicine (14)
      • Infectious Diseases (19)
    • 3 Infectious Diseases Fellowship graduates
  • 33 Alumni completed both PGY1 and PGY2 at TBHC
  • 70% PGY2 progression rate (>75% since 2009)
  • >65% of all alumni are Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialists
  • >70% of PGY2 alumni who are Board Certified in their area of PGY2 training

Our graduates choose careers across the spectrum of pharmacy; however, most either

practice as a hospital-based clinician (60%), in an industry-related position (16%)

or faculty member (8%). Six percent practice in a community setting and 4% in a

government setting (eg. a poison center, the NIH or similar agency).
